Almas U.K. Yacht Club

International Association of Shrine Yacht Clubs

The Almas U.K. Shrine Yacht Club is a part of the International Association of Shrine Yacht Clubs, its aim is to help support the U.K. Shrine Club by holding fraternal fellowship meetings, Lunches & Dinners etc. All Shrine members in the U.K. are invited to join, please note there is no requirement to own a Yacht.

Annual Membership is £20 which also includes membership of the IASYC or you can choose Life membership for only £200.

IASYC APPOINTS NEW DISTRICT COMMODORE

I would like to congratulate Noble Steven John Turner of the U.K. Shrine Club to the position of District Commodore, representing the International Association of Shrine Yacht Clubs (IASYC) in England. The U.K. Shrine Club is located in England. As IASYC District Commodore, one of Noble Steven’s primary duties will be to maintain contact with all Shrine Club/Unit Commodores to help this Fraternity grow and expand in England and other areas called upon by the IASYC Commodore.

In 1971 IASYC started as a club within the Shrine composed of Shrine boaters in Temple Yacht Clubs, ambassadors of goodwill and those affiliated among the boating fraternity. IASYC today represents all of these affiliates. It is a private, self-supporting fraternal Shrine boating association dedicated to the furtherance of the aims of Shrinedom. It has grown and developed since its infancy from the Atlantic seaboard to all areas of the country from coast to coast into Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, England, Germany, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Mexico and South America. Its growth and expansion continues with no end in sight. We consider ourselves the most family-oriented and premier organization in all Shrinedom.

Noble Steven Turner was raised May 15, 1980, in Lesney Park Lodge of Erith No.3965, Welling Masonic Center Kent, England. Since 1998 he has been a member of Civil War Lodge of Research No 1865 VA. He is currently a Noble of Almas Shrine Center of Washington D.C and a member of the U.K. Shrine Club of England.

Noble Steven has held various positions within the Fraternity, including the positions of Past Worshipful Master in 2 English Lodges, Past Provincial Officer for the Provincial Grand Lodge of West Kent, England, and Past President of the U.K. Shrine Club. Noble Steven was the recipient of the Shriner Spotlight Award for Fall 2017.

As IASYC District Commodore, he will represent the IASYC in his respective Port-of-Call acting as the official representative of the IASYC. He will serve as the official greeter to all visiting Shrine Mariners assisting them in their needs, serve in a membership capacity in the recruiting of individual Associate members and will work toward creating interest in the IASYC and the formation of Shrine Yacht Clubs where none exist in England.

IASYC APPOINTS NEW PORT CAPTAIN FOR U.K. SHRINE Club

I would like to congratulate Noble Peter Nicholas Wenzal Preidel of the U.K. Shrine Club on the position of Port Captain for the U.K. Shrine Club, representing the International Association of Shrine Yacht Clubs (IASYC). As Port Captain for IASYC, one of Noble Peters duties will be to maintain contact with the U.K. Shrine Club and assist them in Fund Raising for the U.K. Shrine Club. Secondly Noble Peter will serve in a membership capacity in the recruiting of Individual Associate members as well as in the creation of interest in the IASYC.

Noble Peter’s affiliation began on October 22nd, 2008 in Tankerton Lodge No.5153, 150 Cromwell Road, Whitstable, CT5 INA, Kent, England. He is currently a Noble of Almas Shrine Center of Washington D.C. and a member of the U.K. Shrine Club of England. Over the years as a Mason, he has held various positions within the fraternity and has also held the Most Prestigious position of Master of his Lodge.

In cooperation with the IASYC District Commodore of England, Noble Steven John Turner, Noble Peter will serve as the official greeter to all visitors from IASYC and other Mariners Yacht Clubs to the U.K. Shrine Club of England. He will also serve in a Membership capacity in the recruiting of individual Associate members into IASYC.
